Is the bell/ doubler removable? Can I run it without the bell as a 1.25 - 5 Power scope?

You cannot remove the bell, and it does not have an adjustable objective.

The OpticsPlanet Exclusive Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44 Rifle Scope will withstand the recoil from a .308 rifle. It uses the EBR-1 (Enhanced Battle Reticle) which is a hashmarked ranging reticle using MOA based subtension lines for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections.

Yes, the Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44 Rifle Scope will hold up to recoil from 338 Lapua Magnum due to its shockproof/recoil resistance. It also uses an EBR-1 MOA reticle which is a hashmarked ranging reticle that uses MOA based sub tension lines for holdover, ranging, and windage corrections.

The Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44 Rifle Scope can be used on a 45-70 Gov't rifle. The Vortex 2" extended 30mm cantilever mount will work with this Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10x44 Rifle Scope.

what is the eye piece diameter? trying to get flip cap.

The eyepiece diameter is 1.65", and would require the E-10 Defender Series flip-cap.
