Yes. The Vortex Viper 1x24mm 6 MOA Red Dot Sight can be mounted to a rifle if you purchase a compatible picatinny mount for this optic. The Vortex Viper uses the same footprint as the Burris Fastfire series of optics so any mount for the Burris Fastfire would work. I'd recommend using the Samson Burris Fasfire Hole Pattern Quick Release Micro Reflex Mount, which can be found by using the link below:

You can absolutely mount the Viper on an AR-15 using the included Picatinny base, however it is best used with a Riser like the one linked below.
