If you have a magazine release that is a button than you will want the M2 magazines and if you have the paddle style magazine release than you will want the M1 magazines. The differences is small notches on the front of the magazine body. The M1 models are meant to catch using 1 notch on the paddle release and the M2 models have 2 notches on either side of the magazine meant to catch the button whether it be installed on the left or right side of the PPQ frame.

PPQ M1 has only 1 "notch" at the magazine release lever level. The PPQ M2 has two "notches". The M1 magazine is as best as I can tell the same as the P99 magazine for fit and design. They both have the paddle release on the trigger guard (vice the button release, on the M2 models). I use my P99 and PPQ M2 magazines interchangeably on both P99 and my PPQ M1 pistols.
