Does the centre of the rail line up with the centre of the bore (on an AR-15) so that one can zero the point of impact to be the point of aim?

I will answer my own question here. No this will not line up with the bore so that one can sight the POA to = the POI. However, the mount works really well and far prefer it's offset in terms of maintaining a cheek weld when transitioning from the main optic. Turns out this is better than trying to get POA = POI which was largely theoretical. Inside of 100 yards it's likely irrelevant anyway so just buy this mount. It's great!

It is made of Aluminum and where they are made we were not provided with that information recommend reaching out to manufacturer.

How many spaces on the rail does this take up?

The A645 will take up two to three slots depending on how far from the rail edge you place. At the end of a rail, two slots, in the middle of a rail, three slots.
