I believe I have one of the original Warthog sharpeners. The hones are painted red on the ends, i have no idea what that signifies, can you help me?

No. The WARTHOG Classic II Medium/Coarse Diamond Stones (C2SMC) replace worn, lost, or broken honers on the Classic II and Classic II Elite sharpeners.
