I now know the answer. My Barrell is labeled 5.56 NATO. I viewed a couple of YouTube videos on the subject and now understand the differences between 5.56 NATO and .223 AMMO. I thought they were the same thing, or completely interchangeable, or something. I just didn't know. Thanks.
Glad you found an answer. Yes, you can shoot .223 in a 5.56mm NATO gun, but you CANNOT shoot 5.56mm in a .223 because it's a higher pressure round. Most 5.56mm owners I know typically shoot .223 because they don't need the extra power for targets/gongs, and .223 can be cheaper.
