The Gen 5 (compared to Gen 1-4) backplate has a larger cut-out at the lower right. The right side of the Gen5 Trigger Mechanism Housing is higher than it is on a Gen 1-4 trigger mechanism housing. Slide movement is interrupted by the Gen5 trigger mechanism housing if a Gen 1-4 backplate is on the slide.
