Most Helpful Positive Review Bushnell Yardage Pro Compact 800 Range Finder
I compared the Bushnell Yardage Pro Compact 800 in the field with other range finders and found it to be comparable in accuracy and had better features in its class. This unit is ideal for the rifle hunter or golf, but is a little bulky and potential inaccuracy for the close-range archer. Howeve...

Great Value LRF

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 19, 2010
This unit is a great buy for the price and covers all the ranges that I will need (20 to 930 yards). I particularly like the horizontal orientation and the compact size (it fits nicely into a pocket for quick access). It is a little of a "Battery Hoover" but not unreasonable given the function it is performing (shooting a laser beam out to 900+ yards). The receiver detector seems to be relativity sensitive at the longer ranges. Also includes metric conversions on the internal display. Non-reflective targets such as trees and animals etc. return a weaker signal and hence a shorter range while highly reflective (shiny) targets yield a fast longer range ability. At the longer ranges the 1/4-20 threaded insert for a tripod comes in handy. Overall I would highly recommend this unit.
Pros: Compact size, good range, fast
Cons: Small viewfinder optic
Would recommend: Yes

Great Rangefinder

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on January 8, 2009
This is a great rangefinder for the money. Good features, real good optics. Had some issues with 50 Meter-ish ranges, but that is eyesight thumbnail distance anyway. Same batteries I had in it months ago, no degraded service yet.

Great price from optics planet.
Pros: Clear optics, great options, excelent battery life
Cons: close range is a bit spotty
Would recommend: Yes

Bushnell 800

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on August 26, 2008
Without the center circle, this range finder is difficult to lock onto smaller things when there's any background. Forget using for golf when there's anything behind the green, it can't find the pin! It's dead on for anything the size of a dog, but could not range a woodchuck.
Pros: Large targets easily ranged
Cons: Small targets almost impossible to range
Would recommend: Yes
