I have this mounted on a S&W MP15 rifle. Easily lights up our barn 150 yds from my house. The front ring is used to set the modes and can be a bit tricky. There are a few youtube videos out there covering the settings.
Pros: High output will light up a field
Cons: Modes can be a bit tricky
