Most Helpful Positive Review Good Holster but Not For Everyday
I purchased this holster because I wanted something that I could just grab-and-go if I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt. This isn't a holster for every day carry. It holds my full size 1911 in place securely and provides decent trigger protection. One problem I found is that the elastic magazin...

Most Helpful Negative Review Doesn't fit; useless features
I bought this for my Glock 19 and despite what other reviewers may say it does NOT fit. Perhaps I got one with much smaller elastic straps than on other 5.11 packs, but I couldn't get the trigger guard in the strap despite how hard I tried. Also, the small pockets on the side won't even fit a cred...

Very Clever!

I have been a fan of 5.11 products, and own several of their backpacks. Like their other products, this carry pistol pouch is well thought out. Sometimes an IWB holster just doesn't work, like when you have a backpack with a waist strap. Pocket carry doesn't work with a larger pistol. Maybe you're wearing a large winter coat and want to have access to your firearm outside of carrying it on a belt where you can't get to it. What to do? This carry pistol pouch cleverly disguises the shape of a gun, and is fast to open. The barrel is inserted into one of the two "wings," so the shape of the gun is cleverly concealed. When hiking, I intend to wear the pouch diagonally across my chest along with my backpack on my back. It would simply look like a convenient way to access candy bars and lip balm.

Do not consider this item a "f*nny pack." Some have written that the side pockets are too small for anything, and that there isn't much more room for anything else besides the firearm. That's what makes this product perfect. It's fundamentally a holster in plain sight. Those side pockets can be used, but I think they are there basically for disguise. The overall pouch is slim, sleek, fast, and doesn't scream "GUN!" As for size, my Glock 19/23 just about fills the inside space. You could fit a slightly larger firearm, but not much larger. Thank you, 5.11, for another useful product!

nice slim fanny pack

by Legacy Reviewer, from CA, United States Written on July 13, 2011
Since "fanny packs" are not quite as popular as they were 20 years ago, I had problems finding a comfortable and low-profile pack. I bought this not for concealed-carry, but as a small pack for daily wear. This fit the bill nicely.
Pros: comfortable, low-profile, and durable
Cons: why does black/charcoal cost so much more?

5.11 Gun Pouch

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on April 29, 2011
Fuctional product which provides ease for transporting. Cannot really carry too many other items. The product serves specific purposes for certain times. It is a good product to have when open carry and traditional concealed carry are not practical.
Pros: Makes it easy to carry a handgun
Cons: Cannot carry much else
Would recommend: Yes

Not your typical 80's fanny pack

Great looking and functional concealed carry pack. Holds tight against the waist and is not bulky at all. Hides firearm very well.
Care and practice in drawing the firearm should be done to avoid muzzle sweeping
Pros: well made, comfortable, fits full sized handgun
Cons: none really

Select Carry

Very good piece of kit. However, for my IMI Jericho 941FB/Baby Eagle you have to ensure that the weapon fits flat into the pouch before zipping up, or on pulling the quick deployment tab the top zipper can snag on the rear sights.
Pros: Generally easy to deploy
Cons: Zipper sometimes snags on rear sights
