This backpack is great for a everyday use in the city or for short hikes. It´s supposed to be a half a day pack but it's much bigger than what it seems, you can easily pack a whole day worth of items in it, specially if you use the PALS/MOOLE system webbing to add a couple of pouches to increase capacity. It really expands as you add stuff inside it, and in case you don´t fill it, tou can use the compression straps to keep is as compact as possible. It's rugged and incredibly comfortable on you back and shoulders, with lot of pockets to organize your items as you prefer. I would definitely recommend this pack for a everyday use.

Love this backpack. It survived 8 months in the wonderful middle east with me. 5.11 is the go to brand for me. I have the larger Rush 72 backpack and that works just as well. Not much more to say it's passed the test.

Bought this bag as a permanent Get Home Bag to keep in my car. Perfect size for my needs. Material, stitching, and zippers are all excellent quality. Lots of storage room and organization with multiple compartments. I have used the larger Rush 24 bag daily for over 8 years with only minor wear, so I expect the same from the 12 and that reputation is the main reason I bought it over other bags. The sandstone color is also one of my favorite unique gear colors without an overtly "tactical" appearance.

This bag surpassed my expectations. I’ve always bought lower priced gear and settled with the results. I decided this time to spend a little more and I wasn’t disappointed. I carry this to work everyday along with a 2 liter water bladder. It’s got a plastic panel to protect the bladder compartment from getting banged around. Zippers are solid, stitching was perfect. Couldn’t be happier with this bag.
Pros:
- Durability
- Quality
- Organization

I own a Rush 12 and Rush 24, and have bought Rush 12's for others. Never disappoint in regard to wear and tear. I had one with stitching issues and 5.11 graciously replaced it. Organization aspect of the bags are great. That same format is carried on to each larger bag too(regard to the Rush 24 and Rush 72). So from that stand point it makes it quite easy to relocate your tactical gear (or office gear) from one bag to another depending on your venue and duration of time. Webbing platform is on par with military spec so adding modular add ons work quite well. Zippers are sturdy and strong. Would always by again. If 5.11 had Maxpedition's fabric resilience, I would never buy a bag from any other company except 5.11!
Pros:
- Quality
- Looks
- Organization
- layout
Best Used for:
- everything from tactical to business

You can fit stuff in this backpack that really shouldn't. Needed to carry a giant anatomy book and it accommodated it fine. Only rated 4 stars since there is only one decent sized compartment, the rest are pretty small and specialized for certain gear.

This is a great bag for an EDC. It has more than enough pockets and compartments. The only draw back is the weight. The bag it self is on the heavier side and when loaded with what I'm using it for its heavy.(but that not the bags fault)

What can I say, it's 5.11! I now have all of the Rush Series bags and love them. The quick connect system works very well. I used to use the 10 hour for everyday but decided the 12 would work better for longer days requiring carrying the bag around. The 10 hour can rub your neck if used for long periods when strapped across your chest. This is why i purchased the 12 hour... I use the 24 hour for family trips to the park and it can hold everything that you need... the 72 hour is what I take for week-long business trips and it holds everything I need and room for more - no more checking bags!

Great pack.. I wanted a small pack to grab and go... Fit range gear.. Hike and even use for trips.. Not all at same time of course. Little smaller than I thought actually, but works great and if organized person will work for those needs. Quality is top notch from zippers to shoulder strap construction. Love it and comfortable on short hikes so far.
