Most Helpful Positive Review Dry Fire and Rim Fire need A-Zoom ...
First time rating a product on Optics Planet. I shoot about 10,000 rounds of rimfire per year +/- a few thousand as well as dry fire at least another 4,000 or 5,000 per year what with cleaning, tinkering, upgrades and working on trigger control. Been doing that for about 25 years - some more, some l...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not bad.... but wears out
A decent product to help protect your rimfire.... but the firing pin dimpels the round and wears out after a couple shots. Better than a spent case by about 8 additional shots. Disposible. Pros: Price, provides protection for rimfire firing pin Cons: Dimples pretty deep, need to rotate after 10 sh...

Misleading and Useless

by Scammed, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on April 30, 2025
Do not buy, this is a scam product. I was extremely disappointed to find these are not made to be used for dry firing, even though dry firing is explicitly mentioned in the product description. They are too soft and will immediately deform. What other purpose would I want these for? Utterly useless and a complete waste of money. Disappointed Optics Planet would sell an item with such a dishonest and misleading description.

Good but one big flaw

by The Stig, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on January 1, 2024
The training rounds are as described. They fit 22lr revolvers and chamber properly in semi-auto. The only downside is the hole in the base. I am an instructor. One of the topics in my class is rimfire vs. center fire. Rimfire is difficult to describe because the hole in the base, to a beginner, looks like a place to insert a primer.
Pros:
  • Chamber correctly
Cons:
  • Hole in the base
Best Used for:
  • Training Class

22 Rimfire Snap Caps

by PT, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 9, 2020
These are great snap caps for practicing your trigger pull on you 22LR pistol and rifle. I leave them in my rifle during storage just as extra layer of protection for the firing pin. These snap caps are well made with no feeding issues from the magazine.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • well made
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Storage
  • protection
  • Dry fire practice

Work like they are supposed to

by Jake, from CA, United States Written on December 27, 2017
Great for training and dry fire practice. Randomly load them in my magazines to simulate failures in training. Would recommend to anyone looking for good quality snap caps. I’m buying more for my friends so they can practice too.

Works consistently.

by Butch, from NC, United States Written on December 19, 2017
This little A-Zoom product does exactly hat it's advertised to do--help you make sure your action is loading and ejecting rounds properly. I fount it very helpful in working on a hand gun that would not properly load rounds from the magazine. They are not snap caps as the firing pin will damage the rims. Highly recommended for the purpose they are intended.

Not for Test Firing

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on October 31, 2010
They are great for testing the Magazine and Load/Eject functions. If you fire with them they will dent easily and after a couple times, must be replaced. I tried to file the end down, but it just didn't work right afterwards. Having said that though, they are VERY GOOD for training, demo and making sure you put the gun back together properly.
Pros: Fine for Testing Functions
Cons: Dent Easily
