A-Zoom Blue Revolver Snap Caps
Haven't actually used these snap caps yet but I use snap caps to practice reloading
my revolvers with Safariland Comp II Speed Loaders and practice double action trigger pull with snap caps. You must use snap caps on any 22 caliber firearm to dry fire the weapon or you can damage the firing pin.
a-zoom snap caps
I purchased a-zoom snap caps for 38spl revolver. when i put them in two guns the rubber primer either pushed in or came out enough so the cylinder would not turn. I e-mailed lyman but have not head back.
Pros:
- None - it is not usable
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: No
Nice quality, very light
These are very nicely machined and excellent quality.
I think these are great for dry fire practice if you are concerned about your firing pin, but for reloading drills they may be too light to develop accurate muscle memory. These are considerably lighter than a live round.
I've had other a-zoom snap caps last a very long time, and these appear to have the same material in the primer pocket, so I'd expect you'd get great life.

I like snap caps!
These are snap caps. They are blue so you can see at a glance the revolver is not loaded live ammo. I always open it any physically check when I pick it up, and you should too. But still an assurance during dry fire practice to visually see the blue edge of the rims. Extra assurance that the wear to the firearm is minimized during dry fire practice as well. I got the 12 pack for extras. I actually keep 7 in a 686+ and 5 in a j frame so, perfect. No info on longevity as I don't think I have ever had this brand.
Best Used for:
- Dry fire practice
