Most Helpful Positive Review Previous reviewer didn't read the description
I just wanted to balance the review above because the person gave 1 star when in reality they did not read the description of the product. Snap caps are meant to eject when racked. These are not snap caps, they are STRIKERCAPS which have the black o-ring and are meant to stay in the chamber. This is...

Most Helpful Negative Review worst product ever
after reading the product description and needing only 2 snap caps to perform load, unload drills in a semi automatic pistol, I was dumbfounded to see they have no ejector rim to complete the cycle. This product is only meant to be retained in the chamber so you can rack the slide for cocking a stri...

Striker Caps

by Robert, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on April 9, 2024
Well built. A little different to use due to the O-Rings, that must be removed from the chamber with a cleaning rod following post cleaning dry fire.

Work as advertised

by CHC, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 10, 2021
I wasn't too sure about these, but thought I would give them a shot and picked some up. You can pull the slide back and slip one into the chamber. The O-ring that is already on it holds it in place when you pull the trigger. The trade-offs (compared to snap caps) seem to be that: 1) you need to keep cocking the slide after each shot; and 2) you only get two with each package so if you wanted to train loading, reloading a magazine, that wouldn't work too well. The package also came with extra O-rings so I am not sure if that means that at some point the O-ring may wear down enough that the snap cap will actually fire out of the barrel (or maybe the striker will press the the strikercap further down the barrel so that you can't really dry fire). I suppose a lot more testing will give me the answer to that question. And to remove it, I pulled the slide back and then pushed a cleaning rod down the barrel. It popped right out and it did not take much pressure at all so definitely do it over a tray or something that can catch it easily so that it does not go rolling off.
Pros:
  • EASY INSTALL
  • Easy removal
Cons:
  • have to keep recocking
  • cannot practice loading magazines
Best Used for:
  • Dry fire practice

They do what they are supposed to

by Jefferson, from MT, United States Written on October 21, 2020
Other reviewer complained that they have no rim for ejection. THAT IS THE POINT! They are supposed to stay in a striker fired pistol so you don't eject your snap cap, you can rack the slide to engage (because c*ck isn't "family friendly" and is rejected) the striker and pull the trigger without dry fire damage. If you want to crawl around and pick up your snap caps off the ground and cram them back into the magazine, buy a regular set.
