Jim K.'s Review of Ace Link Armor High Cut Ballistic Helmet
Now I have not tested it - aka tried to blow a hole in it - but I am going on the assumption that OP has vetted the brands it sells on its site.
With that said and out of the way, this is a great deal for a ballistic helmet.
Is it a little heavier than the "premium" brands? Yes.
It it worth paying 3x as much because of that reason? Depends...
I know some of you out there have had to hump around with a helmet all day... we know that after a few hours a few ounces feels like a few pounds. This helmet is for those of us that are financially challenged but still want a ballistic helm. Will I be wearing this all day? God I hope not, because that would mean something very bad has happened... but if I had to and I had no other means of a ballistic helmet? Dang straight I would.
The rails fit everything I tried on it, aka streamlight and surefire lights and ops-core rail adapters for coms.
The padding is decent and will get you started, but I picked up a nice set from HHV to replace it.
The only thing that is just eh... the bungies, popped out pretty easy... I purchased a new set of those too, my NV that I did spend a lot on really kinda needs a good set of bungies along with a very good tether!!
But yeah for $200 and having to buy upgraded padding and bungies? Yeah, good deal.
