I ordered this thinking it would work with my optic, but I didn't pay close enough attention to the footprint compatibility. The plate itself appears well made and the machining is clean, but it wasn't compatible with the red dot I already owned.
Customer service explained which optics fit and offered suggestions, so I appreciate that. I ended up ordering another optic instead. Just be sure to verify your optic footprint before purchasing.

Bought this for my Shield EZ 9mm. Finish is excellent and the plate feels much stronger than I expected. It fit perfectly and has stayed tight after several range trips. Would definitely buy again.

Exactly What My Dad Needed
My father has arthritis and absolutely loves his S&W EZ because of how easy it is to rack. His eyesight isn't what it used to be, so I wanted to add a red dot without buying another pistol.
This adapter solved the problem perfectly. The instructions were straightforward, installation was simple, and the plate feels surprisingly sturdy once everything is torqued down. We mounted an ADE Spike green dot and headed to the range the following weekend.
After helping him zero it, his groups immediately tightened up. Watching him ring steel again with confidence made this one of the best upgrades we've purchased. Considering the cost compared to machining a slide or replacing the handgun, this was money very well spent.

Wish It Sat Lower
The plate works and everything fit correctly, but I didn't realize how much higher the optic would sit compared to a factory optics-ready slide.
It's still usable, and once I adjusted my presentation I started shooting well again. I just wish the sight sat a little lower. That's more of a limitation of this mounting style than the product itself. Overall it's decent, just not exactly what I was hoping for.

Solid Plate, Better Than Expected
I wasn't expecting much considering the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. The machining looks clean, the finish matches the pistol nicely, and the included hardware covered my optic without needing an extra trip to the hardware store.
After zeroing at 15 yards, I fired a couple hundred rounds of mixed FMJ and defensive ammo. The optic stayed put and my zero never shifted. If you're looking for an affordable way to modernize an older Shield EZ, this is a great option.

Perfect Upgrade for My EZ .380
I wanted to add a red dot to my wife's Shield EZ .380 without paying to have the slide milled. This mounting plate was exactly what I needed. Installation took about 15 minutes and everything lined up correctly. I mounted an ADE red dot, applied blue thread locker, and after about 350 rounds nothing has loosened. Great value for the money.

I've bought some inexpensive optic plates before that looked rough around the edges. This one surprised me.
The anodizing is even, screw holes were perfectly threaded, and everything fit without forcing anything together. It feels like a much nicer product than its price suggests.

Wish the Instructions Had More Detail
I wasn't completely sure which screws I should be using for my particular optic, and I ended up searching online before finishing the installation. Once everything was installed it functioned correctly, but I think clearer instructions or a compatibility chart would make the experience much better.

I've been carrying my Shield EZ almost every day for the past four months with this plate installed. I wanted to wait before writing a review because I prefer long-term impressions over first-day excitement.

Since installing it, I've probably fired between 900 and 1,000 rounds. The optic has remained securely mounted, and I've never experienced the screws backing out or the plate shifting. I periodically check screw torque during cleaning just out of habit, but everything has stayed exactly where it should.
This isn't the flashiest accessory, but it's one of those parts you install once and completely forget about—which is exactly what you want from a mounting plate.

After accidentally ordering the wrong footprint from another company, I found this plate.
Lesson learned—buy the correct one the first time.
