This is a great little sight for the $. Weather cover screws on. If you didn’t know. Comes with little screwdriver for this and battery tray. Dot is crisp. So far the ADE Ares is a great optic. The description is a bit misleading it is not a fully enclosed optic it just has a rain hood over the red dot. It the description was accurate I would have given a 5 star

Doesn't have reticle options
Still gave it 5 stars as it is a great red dot for the price. However, I chose this red dot over a more expensive one because I thought it had an option to turn on a circle. I did the whole hold the + button to change the reticle and all it did was power it off. I still like it, just a little bummed it didn’t have the reticle options.

little bigger then i thought
I thought it would be a tad shorter but I was still able to use it. I used it as a piggy back on a Burris Pepr and it was the perfect height and looks sick with the cover on it. Best of both worlds for having a closed emitter and a regular dot. It was pre installed on a pic mount and came with a bunch of Allen keys even one to adjust the dot when the hood was on which was smart. I do wish the Allen was a little longer where it curves it was kind of difficult to keep it in well adjusting but still hats off for thinking of including that. It’s rated for a .45 acp so I’m sure it’ll do fine on a 308 piggy back.

Finally got it installed.
I finally got this great sight installed on a new Kel Tec PMR-30. This pistol is very sensitive to additional slide weight. After many false starts and purchasing the wrong adapter footprint, I found a combination that makes me happy. There are solutions that have you use several adapters to work and it makes the sight way too high. I was able to use the Kel Tec 'Doctor' adapter and the combination works excellent. Even with this small added mass, the gun no longer shoots 30 gr ammo without jamming. Switching to 40 gr ammo fixed that issue. Love the way it 'goes to sleep' when you put the hood on it!

Pretty decent
Its pretty good especially for the cost. I swapped this out with my sig romeo zero on my handgun, and it works pretty well. I like the lift awake function to save battery

Nice and small design
I like this design. The red dot had me sold. I will use it on my pistol. I am very impressed with the design. Definitely worth it!

very solid
put this on a 1911 45acp it has held true for 100 or so rounds so far. the shake awake is a nice feature for saving batteries and not having to fumble around with the power button.

Great RDS for the price.
Excellent clarity, easy to zero, top load battery, sturdy. The dot is bright and precise, not much light bleed, ghosting or starburst - but there is some on the highest brightness settings. The dot does not distort near the edges of the glass like on some cheaper sights. The shake awake feature is nice. Excellent sight in this price range!
