PROS: The hood makes acquisition of the red dot instantaneous even if you never shot red dot; this should be on all red dots. Some enterprising engineer could make a fortune if he would make an adapter hood for other red dots. CONS: no "shake awake"/"instant on". Makes this red dot useful only for practice. This was well worth the price to me to learn how to make red dot acquisition fast and easy without "years" of practice.
