John's Review of QuikClot Trauma Pak Pro w/Quickclot and Tourniquet
I ordered this as a "I hope I never need it but I better have it" accessory for my range bag, primarily to address gun shot wounds. Note that it is not a complete first aid kit, this is in addition to other supplies.
The package itself is incredibly compact! I could easily fit it into the cargo pocket on my 5.11 pants. If I were still active duty LEO I would definitely take this on patrol, or at least have a few in the car.
I can't speak to the quality of the contents since I haven't actually had to use them yet (knock on wood), however after taking them out and examining them I found that they are all of acceptable quality. I do carry my own tourniquet so the SWAT one that is included will likely not see any action, except maybe as a bandage.
The packaging includes a quick guide to applying QuikClot and using the SWAT tourniquet/bandage thing - while this is NO SUBSTITUTE for actual training, it is good as a quick reference in case the owner is wounded and someone else needs to provide first aid (worst case scenario).
