Beyond disappointing. Assemble your own.

by Drainfly5, from IL, United States Written on March 1, 2025
This kit is a total disappointment and, in my opinion tremendously sub-standard. You are far, far better off assembling your own kit from individual components.

First, the "tourniquet" is NOT one of the now-universal, modern tourniquets with quick-adjustable cinching and a built-in pressure rod. Those have become the standard because they are so good and so quick to deploy. Believe it or not, this "tourniquet" is simply a plain stretchy piece of rubber. That's it. While their instructions do recognize that a tourniquet uses a pressure rod, none is included in the kit. It assumes that you'll have something suitable at hand ("place a stick or similar object"). Watch dashcam or bodycam footage showing how quickly a tourniquet may actually need to be deployed: this kit would instead have you go on a scavenger hunt first.

Second, although the kit does contain a thin, single package of QuikClot, it is small, and not near the size of many other packages on the market.

Third, the "instructions" are, in my opinion, both much less than they could be for what the kit provides (there is much to know about the use of tourniquets and QuikClot), but also, oddly, way overbroad in that they purport to address a wide range of medical procedures that are far, far past what the kit has any application for.

Former LEO

by John, from GA, United States Written on January 15, 2016
I ordered this as a "I hope I never need it but I better have it" accessory for my range bag, primarily to address gun shot wounds. Note that it is not a complete first aid kit, this is in addition to other supplies.
The package itself is incredibly compact! I could easily fit it into the cargo pocket on my 5.11 pants. If I were still active duty LEO I would definitely take this on patrol, or at least have a few in the car.
I can't speak to the quality of the contents since I haven't actually had to use them yet (knock on wood), however after taking them out and examining them I found that they are all of acceptable quality. I do carry my own tourniquet so the SWAT one that is included will likely not see any action, except maybe as a bandage.
The packaging includes a quick guide to applying QuikClot and using the SWAT tourniquet/bandage thing - while this is NO SUBSTITUTE for actual training, it is good as a quick reference in case the owner is wounded and someone else needs to provide first aid (worst case scenario).
