Great upper for the money aero always has good products

Purchased as a replacement for a select fire duty gun upper. I have several hundred rounds through the upper and no issues with the performance, durability, fit or finish of the upper. The only complication encountered was the limited foregrip area when mounting accessories. The gap between the ATLAS R-One Handguard and the gas block prevented mounting MLOK forward Vertical hand Grip (AFG), due to the length of the attaching screw/bolt. I resolved this by mounting a Magpul rail and the appropriate AFG.

I have a number of Aero parts and uppers, etc. I have never had issue with them and I don't expect much different with this one. The Atlas handguards are one of the best. I did, however, find that this specific lower with No Forward Assist would NOT fit a Radian Raptor SD charging handle. The tabs would fit in the slot but would slide to a halt about halfway to latching in storage position. The latch fits other uppers. Must be a faulty upper which is likely not made by Aero.

Just the item I was looking for. Solid upper and built to do the job. It has everything you need for accessories, rails, mlock mounting locations. And in the right place.I will buy this next time I build an AR.

I applied for my form 1, got approved then ordered this upper. I must admit the quality of Aero Precision never ceases to amaze me at the price point they’re able to hit! The machining and the comfort is what you would expect from a top-tier manufacture costing $1000+ for an upper not for something under the $500 mark. I replaced the gas block this came fitted with and upgraded it to to Aero Precision adjustable gas block because I knew I was suppressing this upper. I also replaced the fitted muzzle device with the SilencerCo ASR mount for my Omega 36M. After getting those two products installed and tuning the gas system it runs like an absolute dream! I paired this offer with a cryptic codings mystic black bolt carrier group I also got an H3 buffer and buffer spring from Aero Precision. I can’t say enough good things about this upper! I do wish there was an option to have the adjustable gas block come directly from the factory instead of having to upgrade it yourself but other than that it’s a small inconvenience.

Precision is in their name and I understand why - I own several"High End" Uppers but none as nice or well made as this. Its a beautifully machined fine piece of equipment. Would I trust my life to it, Heck YES!

The fit and finish are excellent. Very well put together. Would definitely purchase Aero brand again.

Had no problem swapping out the flash hider with a linear compensator. The whole unit was nicely built.

Very comfortable to grip underhand, or overhand with a very close grip that is surprisingly comfortable. Definitely noticeable how much lighter and nimble it is compared to a full 16 inch. The lack of a forward assist is very pleasing. The only reason I am giving this 5 star item 4 stars, is because the fine print says that its a .250 outer diameter for the takedown pins. I had quite a fair bit of slop with this aero upper on my aero lower. So keep that in mind when building with this upper. I had to go back and buy an aero LPK, and while the front pivot pin was much tighter and offered very little play, the rear takedown pin still rattled around inside the hole of the upper receiver. I tested it and didn't even bother taking the buffer tube as a result. I ended up using a .003 shim that I found on a website and put it on the front pivot pin, and also used a accuwedge. Maybe I just got a poor fit and its not indicative of aeros typical product, nevertheless I am very pleased with the upper, even given the extra expenditure and frustration. Keep in mind, it is hard to find .250 OD takedown pins. If I could actually find anything in stock, I would have bought some double oversized pins and sanded it for a perfect hand fit. Hands down this is the best handguard at a minimum that I have seen on the market. Good luck in your purchases.

This things light! My build came In at 5.01 lbs with mbus sights and empty mag. The forward assist is gone makes it look very clean. Fired beautifully after upgrading the muzzle device and running a h buffer. Thanks optics planet.
