I have built numerous ARs and love Aero Precision for the most part. However, when attempting to install the Aero Precision AR15 BAR Barrel Nut and Shims I hit a wall. I encountered numerous issues trying to properly align the nut to accept the handguard on my Aero Precision M4E1 Threaded Assembled Upper Receiver. I was unable to adequately shim the nut for my application with the four shims that were included so I had to order the Shim pack. After some effort . . this solved the problem. Dave H.

Picture is misleading. This if for TWO shims. That is $5 per shim. That is more expensive than the equal weight in solid gold.

short on shims

My order was unmolested and yet it only had 4 shims in the pack . According to the picture there should be 8 of em . So I still need to order more ! Smh

Not just for BAR nuts, these work for any barrel nut that requires timing.

Simple fix for hand guard nut timing.

Sometimes more shims are needed to achieve the proper timing for gas tube clearance. These are good to have on hand.

Pros:

Helps correct timing.

Cons:

More shims should come with nut.

Nut gas tube clearence.

These worked out great for my build. I would recommend these to anyone building AR’s. Always have enough shims on hand, a must for new builders.Its always good to have spares on hand, you never know when you might need them, when you do you wont have to wait to find them.
