Perfect receiver if you're looking to build a monolithic upper
Bought this for use with a Jag Composites Bertha carbon fiber handguard which interfaces with the enhanced upper.
Solid Upper for some
First, it's an upper, and it seems to be in spec. So there isn't a ton to say beyond the hand guard attachment. I like the thought of offloading the stress of the hand guard off of the barrel nut and on to the upper frame. Does it change anything? I have no clue. I had one of the enhanced hand guard from another build, so this made sense for me. The styling is good. It mates up to my lower with almost no gaps and there is zero movement between the upper and lower when pinned.

Solid Upper for a Precision Build
Big fan of these Aero-Precision enhanced uppers. This particular upper was used to build a 6mm ARC for PRS gas gun class. Both the design and execution are terrific. This is a heavyweight upper with the enhancement of a oversized attachment for the handguard. This design isa similar to many of the best AR uppers like LaRue, Seekins, Daniel Defense, JP Rifle and others that have the handguard attach to a reinforced receiver rather than the flimsy barrel nut. While the barrel nut design works great for lightweight barrels and shouldered shooting, this upper is idea for heavier precision builds at it is far more ridged....and ridged = precision. Just remember, you must use an Aero Precision enhanced handguard with this upper. Highly recommended, as this makes 8 or ten builds with this upper.

great upper slow shipping
AP is a great company, this product is exactly what you’d expect. This is my first time building an AR without a forward assist so we’ll see how it turns out! Very happy with the product, the only gripe is it took a while to finally ship, I do t know what all goes on in the warehouse so I’m sure people weren’t just messing around but shipping things out sooner would be nicer.
