armorers corner's Review of AGM Global Vision MUM-14A Multi-Purpose Night Vision Monocular
I purchased an AGM GEN3 White Phosphorus MUM-14A that was the most expensive in its class with an advertised screen resolution between 64-72. This sucker was expensive but less than the Mil-spec PVS-14. Still, for what I spent on this unit, it should have been a fantastic unit. WHAT I GOT WAS A PIECE OF JUNK! There were artifacts in zone 1, 2 and 3. The artifacts in zone 1 we're so bright I could not distinguish between the artifact and my IR laser designator. The spec sheet stated the artifacts we're between .003 and .006. they were much, much larger. The construction of the housing of the MUM-14 was also junk. Where the j arm attaches to the monocular, was a tiny molded flange on the outer surface of the housing. It looked to be so delicate that any impact to the j arm would immediately crack it off the housing. Why they didn't incorporate a standard ¼-20 mounting boss is beyond me. This thing will NEVER survive in a real world environment. JUNKARUNEY BOYS, BEWARE! I returned it and purchased a GEN3 White Phosphorus 0PMOD PVS14. OPTICS PLANET was awesome with the return and helping me purchase what I wanted. OPTICS PLANET A+, AGM FFFFFFFFFFFF.
