I purchased an AGM GEN3 White Phosphorus MUM-14A that was the most expensive in its class with an advertised screen resolution between 64-72. This sucker was expensive but less than the Mil-spec PVS-14. Still, for what I spent on this unit, it should have been a fantastic unit. WHAT I GOT WAS A PIECE OF JUNK! There were artifacts in zone 1, 2 and 3. The artifacts in zone 1 we're so bright I could not distinguish between the artifact and my IR laser designator. The spec sheet stated the artifacts we're between .003 and .006. they were much, much larger. The construction of the housing of ...

I now have 2 of these devices, the first one I got from Amazon it has almost no blemishes however it does seem to have alot of noise and there is no information about the signal to noise in the manual. Second device has a couple of small blemishes but alot less noise. The green phosphor is different shades of green for some reason. The biggest con is that there are no aftermarket accessories for this device. What you get in box is it. Regular mum14 adapters do not work. And my second one didn't even come with the adapter needed for mounting it so I have to wait for a response to see if they will send me one or not.
Pros:
- lightweight, affordable, decent quality, great value for the dollar
Cons:
- Noise, no aftermarket accessories,
Best Used for:
- night time fun

The Volkswagen “thing” of night vision
I have seen a few bad reviews on these and yes the unit has been discontinued by AGM but they still support it. Their customer service is great, I still have not heard back from ATN on my broken PVS 14. Yes the head mount is garbage and the bayonet mount does not hold (the issued one I had fell out as well so). The rifle mount is solid with zero wobble (the GI version wobbled a lot). For what it is surplus Eastern European tube it is better than the Gen2 I was issued. It is way lighter than the PVS or even the cheap Chinese digital copies which is why I got this. Actually the cheap mount it comes with is fairly secure with hardly any wobble which was a surprise. Optical planet left the eye cup out of my order and AGM sent me one and a few extra bayonet mounts even though it was not their mistake. If you are expecting tacticool high speed this is not your rig. if you are looking for small, light and the Volkswagen Thing version of night vision this is pretty much it. Added that AGM answers their phone and has great customer service I am pretty pleased with my glock Tupperware budget nightvision optic. Yes it it polymer plastic fantastic which is good and bad. Yes it isn’t a PVS14 and yes it it cheap .. but that is what I wanted. Again don’t expect a milspec unit out of a budget priced piece of equipment you ain’t gonna find one ..
Pros:
- light weight
- light weight, works with standard bayonet rhino mounts, cheap price, AGM has great customer service and easy to use
Cons:
- Polymer body, head mount is garbage, salvaged euro tube
- not a PVS14, polymer body, limited mounting accessories (basically the AGM or Berling swing mount) no gain control
Best Used for:
- Night vision training and chasing your cat around the house
