I've been using a thermal scope since 2019, mostly as a handheld for scanning. With a 1.5x magnification and 25mm objective, it was truly a game changer for nighttime predator hunting compared to red lights and night vision optics. With the newer improvements in detection, identification, sensor density, screen resolution, and temperature sensitivity, I was ready for an upgrade.
I chose the AGM Rattler V3 35-640 for its impressive specs and positive reviews over other brands. I chose the 35 over the 50 for its lower magnification and wider FOV. I used it in the field as a handheld scanner the first time a few days ago. Its performance has exceeded my expectations in most areas. My only disappointment is in zooming. Only the 5x (up 1 from the 2.5x base) has good definition.

Optic and super clear and detection reached out farther than advertised range. LFR seems to work perfectly
