I sat on this purchase for years. Kept telling myself I'd "wait for a sale" or "do more research" — really I was just nervous about dropping this kind of money on a night vision unit. Looking back, the only mistake was waiting so long.

First thing that hit me out of the box: how light this thing is. I've spent time behind a PVS-14 monocular setup on a helmet mount, and you'd think a binocular housing would feel like strapping a brick to your face by comparison. It doesn't. AGM did something right with the weight distribution here, because even during longer sessions I wasn't fighting neck fatigue or feeling that forward pull you get with a lot of mono rigs once you add a J-arm and counterweight. Binocular depth perception without the usual weight tax — that's the win. I paired these binos with the Wilcox G24 LoPro Mount it fits together seamlessly.

Build quality feels legit. Nothing rattles, the housing is solid, buttons have a good tactile click so you're not guessing whether you actually pressed something with gloves on. This doesn't feel like a "budget Gen 2" unit — it feels like something built to actually get used and abused.

The auto-gated Gen 2+ tubes are the real story though. If you've used older, non-gated Gen 2 tech, you know the tubes can wash out or bloom the second a bright light source enters the picture — headlights, a flashlight, even a bright moon reflecting off water.
