This magnifier is really nice. I've never used the older aimpoint 3x magnifier to compare but this one is built like a tank. I'm not too impressed with the eye relief but it's not a big deal, I'm just used to scopes with a longer eye relief. I haven't had any problems with a blurry red dot, I moved the magnifier as close to the sight as I could and the dot is still crisp. I have to magnifier paired with an aimpoint comp m4.
