Peace of mind - Aimpoint Micro H-2 2 MOA Red Dot Sight

We gear guys spend endless hours looking for the best stuff for the best price. I do it too because the hunt is more exciting than the kill. I finally made a decision to mount the H-2 and Kinetic Development Group sidelock on my Sig MPX. It co-witnesses with the bottom third of BUIS, but since the AimPoint has a peerless reputation for ruggedness, reliability and battery life, if the H-2 gets damaged in the next firefight, because of the QD mount I can quickly remove it and use my BUIS to stay in the fight.
My sons and friends own several types of economy grade red dots mounted on various guns, and after shooting with the H-2, they want to upgrade to the AimPoint. It's light, beautifully constructed, and precision-made internally and externally. Easy to zero with positive clicks, clear optics, a precision red dot. Oh, and I took the sight off to sight in the BUIS, re-mounted it and zero was maintained. The Kinetic sidelock is rock solid and compliments the H-2 very well.
What's not to like about it? Cost. Two comments: 1. The guys who now want to upgrade saved money but also endure broken units, warranty fights, returns to seller, replacements plus every day mediocre performance. 2. I'll end with a rhetorical question: Is knowing you have the best optic money can buy worth it when you need it most?
