devildog's Review of AimShot HG-Pro Reflex Sights
I originally purchased this site when I was looking for a lower cost red dot to put on my off duty rife. I did read all the reviews and gathered as much info as there was, and mounted this to my AR platform. I am full time law enforcement and a SWAT operator so I had the opportunity to shoot this sight during training days under a wide variety of light conditions both indoors and out on someone else's ammo budget so it got a every chance to prove of disprove itself. First the Pros, the construction is solid. Once you get figure out how to overcome the loose factory setup on the mounting it mounts to the rifle solid as rock. Very little paralex inside of 50 yards and none really from 50 out to 100 yards. Got is soaking wet several times without any water seepage, worked well in minus 13 degree winter shoot. Cons. lots of screwing around to zero, elevation was easy enough although the spring driven mechanism for it does not hold, windage never seemed to get right on, Did not hold zero after the first 100 rounds. Indoors it worked well but outside in any kind of bright light the red dot washes out and was essentially unusable. After the first 200 rounds the red dot would vanish after each shot, at first taping the site would make it come back but eventually I would have to turn it off then on again after each round. changing batteries, cleaning the contacts, tightening the mount never solved the problem, the sight proved to unreliable to use and it now sits in a box. I would not recommend this sight although it seems some people are happy with it, I suspect that quality control is hit and miss and you may be able to roll the dice and get one the does work but I don't think it is worth the chance
