Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent Quality Throughout And Good Value For Money!
I recently purchased two of these in the HG-PROC version ( 3 MOA dot with 65 MOA circle with crosshairs ), one for a CZ/D-Technik ( now CSA ) vz.58 7.62mm tactical rifle and one for a Mossberg 500 Persuader 12-gauge tactical shotgun. Results have been generally excellent ( see "Pros" ), and I must s...

Most Helpful Negative Review dissapointed
I originally purchased this site when I was looking for a lower cost red dot to put on my off duty rife. I did read all the reviews and gathered as much info as there was, and mounted this to my AR platform. I am full time law enforcement and a SWAT operator so I had the opportunity to shoot this...

Optic sucks

by William, from MD, United States Written on March 21, 2023
This optic is horrible. Any kind of daylight conditions the dot washes out even on the brightest setting. I changed the battery just in case that was the issue it wasn't. Tried to reach out to aimshot but their customer service is non existent. It's setting in a box collecting dust right now. If your looking for a good budget option I would recommend a sig Sauer Romeo 5 or a holoson

Good site very clear in day light . I like the green dot inside the circle!! Made it easy to pick up and put it on the target!! Green dot is easily pick up in the dark also!!! Site seems to be very durable and strong!

Too dim for use in daylight.

by Ken, from TX, United States Written on May 28, 2017
Too dim for use in daylight,,, with brand new batteries. All the other problems with adjustment, cross hairs being chopped off at the top of the window, don't matter. Can't use it. I checked it indoors when it first arrived, and didn't try it out on a gun for ~3 years. I have an EOTech on my main shooter.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Too dim to be useful

Looks Like a Great Optic Sight

by Bobber 88, from AZ, United States Written on September 5, 2014
Just examine it physically, it looks like it is designed and manufactured very well although I see that it was made in China!! I have not had the opportunity to install it; because I have not decided on which weapon; either the Bushmaster AR-15, the TAR-15 (Dave Turnbull special), or the AK-47. I will write up an evaluation when I do have some data.

Thanks,
Bobber 88
Pros:
  • Clear optics
  • Design
  • Construction
Cons:
  • No comment at this time
Best Used for:
  • Semi auto assault weapons
  • Rifles
  • Perhaps pistols and revolvers with Picatinny rails

Best red dot for your money hands down!!!

by treemaniac, from WA, United States Written on July 13, 2013
Got the dealer demo for super cheep with the circle dot reticle, the sight fit right on my flat top ar-15 for a nice cheek weld and co-witness for the irons. The reticle was slightly crooked when I got it so I called aimshot and they sent me a new one with no arguing. I mentioned that the sight was a bit dim and was informed they had a bad early batch and said the new one would be much brighter. I know I got my moneys worth just for the 5 year warranty! highly recommended all around best red dot/ holo you can buy for the money!
Pros: 5 yr warrenty, perfect for co-witness on AR, light, bright Amazing customer service!
Cons: ....

Great Bang for Buck!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on March 25, 2013
I looked at multiple reflex sights in the under $400 range and this seemed to have the best all around features for a reasonable price (water proof, shock proof, quick release, parallax free). It was quick and easy to sight in and the light adjustments seem to be more than sufficient for multiple environments. This is a great buy.
Pros: Great price, Rugged, Easy to see, Parallax Free, Quick release
Cons: Could use MOA marks around windage and elevation

Works indoors, not so much outdoors.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 10, 2013
Ordered the AimSHOT Reflex, arrived earlier than expected and I was eager to take it to the field that weekend to do a little work with it.

I attached it in my shop, setting it up was easy, it was easy to adjust and attach and the reticle was great indoors. It was quite visible on all settings, the only complaint I had was that the window was "dirty" even after a thorough cleaning with Otis optic cleaner.

Upon taking it out to our range a few days later, I couldn't wait to try it out! I loaded up and stepped to the line, turned it on and shouldered my rifle and was confused because I could have sworn I had turned it on. As it turns out, it was actually on. The reticle is just nearly invisible during daylight conditions on all settings. After "finding" the sight I was able to put a few rounds downrange...only to find that the sight will randomly turn off while firing. This would be understandable if I had it strapped on some heavier firepower, but it was on an AR15 rifle chambered in 5.56mm.

All and all, I would not recommend this sight to anyone. It is a good price, but it isn't dependable in variable light conditions or while firing. I was thoroughly disappointed.
Pros: Well built, affordable
Cons: Turns off when firing, not visible in daylight conditions.

Outstanding budget red dot

by Jim, from CT, United States Written on December 15, 2012
I bought this sight because my build budget on my M4 clone was running out. I was surprised at how rugged the sight was. It is a bit on the heavy side and the detailed finish is not what you would expect on a high end red dot, but it isn't a $500+ EO Tech. The sight mounts easily and adjusts from very bright to night vision compatible. It has withstood thousands of rounds without losing zero and the batter has lasted about a year so far. I would have preferred something less reflective with the lens (ruby red mirror) but the sight hasn't disappointed in performance. The instructions weren't that great but the customer service is outstanding and they have addressed all of my questions immediately. If you are on a budget, this should be your first option for a holographic sight.
Pros: Value for the money, durable
Cons: Little on the heavy side

Not quite up to the Hype

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on October 29, 2012
Works well when indoors, but if you go outside during the daylight hours and aim towards something that isn't dark-colored, the red washes out. Not acceptable for duty use, and since I couldn't start to use it until past the Optics Planet refund deadline, I am stuck with a $200 chunk of aluminum.
Pros: It does turn on and off
Cons: Can't use in the middle of the day outside
