IR Heatseeker
Does what it is supposed to do very well. REmember it is not an IR camera, so it measures differences in heat, and does not give an actual spot heat value.
Well built.
Pros: easy to use, well built
Cons: takes some time to get used to it

heatseeker does not work as described
tested on a house cat at 5 yards and got no reading then tested on a doe at 50 yards and got no reading, both tests were in the shade, but will give a reading on a sunlit tree at 10 yards.would never recommend this product to any one.
Finding gophers?
Could I use this heat seeking device to find gophers underground in the earth? Say about 18 to 24” deep underground?Traps aren’t working for these older wise gophers. Let me know. Or Please recommend a good alternative. Cheers, Terrence

Not very good for hunting
Depending on what your intentions are for using this product , is what I would base purchase on. My purpose was for hunting and it was very hard to figure out and to get it to adjust, was a lot confusing.

Locating downed deer.
I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I bought it in case a deer was wounded in the timber, this should make it easier to locate. I have practiced with it and it seems to work like it is supposed too. It will be well worth the money if 1 deer can be kept from not being recovered.
