Scope appears to be well made with clear optics. It is a great value for the money. Easy adjustments in the turrets and they are well marked. Have not shot it yet but from what I see of it I am sure it will be right on and hold center perfectly.

I start saying I own several products from Alpen after buying my Shasta Ridge Binos back in 2003 for an Elk hunt. Those Binos have been on 20 hunts since and they have taken a beating (MANY times) and stood-up to the test of time.

I bought this scope after buying and LOVING my Kodiak 6-24mm scopes (that sadly are discontinued). At close to a lb. this isn't the lightest 3-9 I have owned, but it's close to most other offers out there and I knew that going in. The glass is of course the best thing about ALL Alpen's products- they pull ahead of the market here and shooting 20 minutes after sundown yesterday at 100 yards- I was able to get a very decent view of my target and shoot a group without thinking about light. It was after pulling my eye up over the scope that I realized how DARK it really was!

Two things you need to know about this scope:

1) The reticle is thicker at the cross-hairs than some scopes. I do prefer a thinner reticle, but I again knew this and for general hunting (and low light views) some would prefer this over a thinner reticle. I can easily shoot MOA at 100 yards (on 9 power) and any deer or pig out to 200 yards is going to hang with a clean shot. But I would not want to shoot target or hunt at longer ranges- not what this scope is made for.

2) Eye relief is limited. Of all my scopes from Alpen, this scope has the shortest eye relief of them all. Although it has a nice, large ocular lens, you'll need to pay particular attention to your stock's...

This scope is super clear and let’s in good light at dawn and dusk. Haven’t had it too long so can’t comment on any fogging or not. Amazing warranty and price can’t be beat for the quality. I’ll definitely buy more of these in the future.

I planted this scope on my Savage 17 hmr,I old school bore sighted the rifle,used the 3 round method of sighting in, a little tweaking out at a 150 yards and this is a tack driver,the scope is very clear,keeps zero and is well worth every penny,beyond happy,I just bought a Mossberg MVP varmint and this scope will be on board that rifle also

I mounted this on a Ruger 22 American rifle with a 22 inch barrel. After mounting and bore sighting the scope, I shot at both 25 and 50 yard targets while using the tactical style windage and elevation adjustments to score bulls eyes at both ranges. The next test will be at greater distances. The scope is clear and has good eye relief for someone needing to focus on the target while wearing glasses.

Maybe just my scope, but had to use pliers and penetrating oil to free up windage and elevation adjusters. After adjustment, very sharp and clear sight picture in both daylight and dusk/dawn.
Pros: Low price, Good quality optics
Cons: Bad time adjusting

Have had the scope for 2 WIs gun deer season from 5 deg temps to rain and fog. No problems. Great clarity at dwan and dusk. Also have Leupold and though the quality is certainly different, the value is still excellent. The Kodiak holds its own.
Pros: clearity,ease of use, focus ring,warranty
Cons: so far none

Performance cannot be beat for the price. Unbelieveable sharpness and clarity edge to edge in the scope. Compared it side by side with a $300 Burris scope and it was every bit as good in low light conditions. Can't tell you about recoil because mine is mounted on a .22 mag, but it feels sturdy and the adjustments were solid when sighting in.
Pros: Price, clarity, light transmission
Cons: none I have noticed yet.

I recently purchased this scope and compared it to a bushnell doa 600 ? There was huge difference the kodiak picture far superior to the bushnell and the field of view was awesome.Low light conditions the alpen hands down was awesome thanks alpen for good scope at good price.
