I own 4 of these mounts. They return to zero every time. I have fired a sub moa 3 shot group with scope removal between each shot to test it. They are worth the money.
Some advice, follow the adjustment instructions when installing for the first time (don't over tighten). And when re-latching for regular use press down the tabs all the way then pull back against the stop and it will have the exact same pressure on the rail.
