When I put the hog log feeder out, and finding the feeder detatched from the auger when I returned to refill it, I was sceptical on it's performance. The feeder was lodged against a tree not far from the auger, so, I figured something had stepped on the carabiner disconnecting the feeder from the cable. Once I retrieved the pics from my game camera I was amazed at the results. A huge boar came in after dark, even though it was irritated with the presence of the strange object, the boar wouldn't leave the area and instead kept circling it for almost two hours. He returned the following night at almost the same hour, but this time he was completely relaxed and started nosing the feeder around picking up the few kernels of corn for another two hours. There were plenty of opportunities for a clear head shot. I replaced the carabiner with a quick link to prevent the feeder from becoming detatched from the cable. I highly recommend this excellent product and I will purchase more feeders to set out in other remote areas.
