Every defensive pistol should have quality night sights and the Ameriglos are as good as any. My M&P Shield was a reliable, accurate pistol, but it grouped noticeably low. Istalling the Ameriglo SW-800-210 Short Front was the ticket for moving the groups closer to point of aim. Be warned that the original sights on some M&Ps are difficult to remove due to extremely tight dovetail slots. I made a bronze (harder than brass, softer than steel) punch to drive them out. I was excited to receive my front site. Had it installed immediately just to realize that the Tridon was dead, completely disappointed who’s going to refund me the money that I spent to have it installed nevertheless I have uninstalled and a new one installed optic planet has been awesome in the past, they will address is properly

Night sight

The sight could be a little brighter but does the job. I have a red dot but concerns me the intruder could see that before I see them. So I purchased the night sight and liked it enough to purchase the back one. Glad I did.

Tritium was DOA

The tritium front sight arrived and I was extremely disappointed by the fact that it didn't glow. At all. I've returned it for another one, but the process is taking quite a while and I hope I don't end up without this sight....I had high hopes for this but so far it's bad.

Misaligned front site.

I recently purchased Smith & Wesson M&p 40c it was Factory New old stock and I have the Triton night sights. My front sight is off to the left a little bit where makes a huge difference in my shooting. On the right side of the front sight there's a small s there does that mean anything? Do I have to go a certain direction? I know you guys do not recommend regular owners doing that but I'm not sending it in for repair. I am going to take a brass punch and just aline of myself. I'm not going to do this though until I know for sure that I won't completely ruined the slide.

great front sight

Works as expected

Installed easily and the sight picture is greatly improved over the standard, non-tritium, sight. My only complaint is a white stain that seems to be permanent on the left side of the sight post, hence the four out of five stars. However, it doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it. I thought it worth mentioning.

Ameriglo Tritium .210" Front Sight for M&P Shield.

This is the second one of these blades that I've installed on a Shield that arrived from the factory shooting about 3-4" low at 7 yards. This blade raised the point of impact to just about spot-on at that distance. As noted in another review getting the old sights off a Shield can be a bit of a chore, but these lighted Ameriglo sights worth the effort. They are sturdy and improve the usefulness of your defensive gun in all kinds of lighting situations.
