Most Helpful Positive Review Best Fast Acquisition Rear Sight for Glock
I purchased the GL-405PRA rear sight which is very similar to the GL-405L. The GL-405L is serrated on the back and has a square notch vice plain black and U notch on the GL-405PRA. Both are the same height as stock. Both have wider notch of .180 vice the stock .140 which equates to faster sight acquisition. These sights are a great value, steel construction, and a vast improvement over stock. I use the Ameriglo GL-212-OR ProGlo front sight. This is a great combination.

Great Option

by E, from PA, United States Written on March 26, 2019
If you prefer blacked out rear sights, or just want to try them these are a great option. I have them on my G19 and G17 and love them. I would definitely recommend the serrated version to reduce glare. Only downside to these is they have a fairly wide rear notch, which on longer sight radius guns like the G17, you'll find an abundance of room between your front post and the rear posts. Some may like this as it generally aids in accuracy, I prefer a tighter fit for defensive uses.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Affordable
  • Simple
  • easy sight aquisition
Cons:
  • wide rear notch
Best Used for:
  • target gun

Ameriglo rear serrated black sight

by Sowbelly, from MO, United States Written on January 4, 2019
Ameriglo products are on point with size and fit, easy to install with sight punch tool if you don’t have a rear sight push tool. The machine work on this sight is flawless and the rear serrated black out makes for pick up the front sight quick. I went with the standard Steel front sight from Glock it comes with a bigger white dot then the poly stock sights.
Pros:
  • fit and appearance are great
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All Glock models except slimline

Really like wide .180 rear notch with serrations. Paired with .115 black serrated front provides quick acquisition and very crisp sight picture for precision as well. Installation was smooth with no fitting needed.

by JimG, from OH, United States Written on August 22, 2016
Worked great, just minor fitting, as expected. Installed on both my glocks. Much better than the plastic glock sights. A little wider aperture than factory, makes for quicker target picture. Same height as factory sights too.

Ameriglo Glock Pistol Rear Sight Black

by bigscrooge, from CA, United States Written on February 3, 2016
Great black-out rear sight on my G36 so I can quickly acquire the Trijicon HD orange front sight. Also allows the user to rack the slide using belt, tabletop etc, whatever if one-handed. This sight was a real piece of cake to install also. Sight pusher at the range, old out, new in. No more plastic Glock sights.

Simple and Effective

by Ben, from AL, United States Written on November 22, 2015
I paired this rear sight up with a red fiber optic front sight on my Glock 17 Gen 4. The plain black rear allows me to focus more clearly on the front sight. I was concerned that the width between blades would be too wide, but it has not presented an issue, so far. The extra space allows me to acquire the front fiber optic quicker. Good construction. Excellent service from OpticsPlanet.
