Lightweight it is, secure it is not, and customer service isn’t - Angstadt Arms Ultra Light Handguard

Previously reviewed this 5 stars. Would have stayed that way if it had A.) remained securely attached to the barrel nut. And B.) their response to my report was lack luster at best. I checked with a gunsmith after the handguard began walking down the barrel nut under recoil and they discovered that it could be completely removed under proper torque with an armorers hammer and some light taps. I sent in the handguard to angstadt at cost to me and had it coming back to me almost as soon as it got there with an email claiming that they could not replicate the issue and a reminder to apply proper torque specs. I took the handguard straight to my gun smith with my upper in pieces and requested they assemble it completely since angstadt eliminated themselves from the issue I isolated myself from it as well. My gunsmith assembled and discovered the handguard could be removed by hand without the assistance of the hammer. I relayed this to the manufacturer who proclaimed it my issue, my fault, and that the screws must be stripped and that is not covered under warranty. I have since selected a new handguard and will never purchase another angstadt arms product.
