Defintley adds some weight and wouldnt even think to put one on both sides but i sure dont want to catch on in my lower abdomen. I understand that a vest is supoosed to protect vitals bla bla bla. Check this out short stuff, for us that dont have their entire.mid section covered its great. If you're short (under 6ft ...im 6'5) it can probably protect your man meat. I would for sure keep a load out without it on there for lightweight distance situatjons but hunker down bangout until my soul bails out situations id get a body suit if my wallet would allow it.

I was recommended this product by a friend after looking for a larger armor area for my torso. Im a big boi and need a lot of armor. I have 11x14 plates and still want more abdominal protection and this pouch was just what I was looking for. FYI dont make the same mistake I did, this pouch mounts into the plate pocket entry with your plate, not your cummerbund flap. If you mount this between your cummerbund, the pouch will pull up when you go to put your carrier on or take it off. Also the pouch can hinge and swing more when you are moving if its mounted to your cummerbund flap due to the void-space behind the pouch. TLDR mount to your plate pocket. This pouch is meant to be used with a soft armor insert the company makes which I also recommend.

What I was looking for to cover what the chest shields didn't.
I checked and found this online with the armor for over a hundred dollars so I bought this and a side panel armor for next to nothing. This holder fits the 6" side armor perfectly and saves you money. I bought the armor from e-bay I think it was AR500. I ended up with an extra side plate but that is fine. I found out I didn't like the feel of side plates anyway. This holder has good grip and pleant of grip area. Fit my vest perfectly. Good quility material.
