I got this to use with an Area 419 ARCA rail. The locking pins work great with the 'serrated' edges of the Area 419 rail. I think you have to remove the pins if you using it with a straight edged rail. I haven't tried it, so I can't comment on that. When locked into place it is extremely solid.
It is a pricy piece, but I didn't really look around other than at the Magpul, which I was unable to find. The Magpul is about the same price anyway. I'm sure there is something cheaper if that is important to you.
