Extremely easy to install. Extremely easy to zero. Zero stayed put. Zeroing hex screws had very solid feel to then, in contrast to some other lasers I have used. Another user had difficulty installing. I don't know, maybe his trigger guard or the laser product were warped or something, but my installation went quick and easy with a perfect, high precision fit. The laser is very bright for the price range. Pros: Matches gun perfectly Cons: None

TR7 for USP.45 = BAD; Armalaser & OpticsPlanet = GOOD

by Matt, from OR, United States Written on February 10, 2023
I loved everything about this laser (and the two holsters I bought directly from Armalaser) until I went to the range and learned that the rearmost part of the TR7 frame prevents the mag release from fully retracting into the locked position. My mag literally fell out onto the table after one shot. You can force the mag release past the TR7 frame and into its proper position, but, well...we HK owners...that's not really our style.

I called Armalaser and "VanessaM" acknowledged that others have had this problem and happily agreed to refund the two holsters I bought. I asked her if they were working on a recall or a fix and she very kindly said they "didn't have a timetable."

I called OpticsPlanet and they were great about refunding me on the laser and seemed to welcome the info on my experience.

That's my review. Two perfectly good companies, one faulty piece of equipment, everyone acted honorably.

If I ever hear that Armalaser has issued a fix, I will absolutely buy all three items all over again because the TR7 concept is absolute genius and it was hands down the best laser/IWB holster experience I ever had.

Too good to be true, apparently. Sigh.

ArmaLaser TR7 Laser Sight

by Edward, from AL, United States Written on February 28, 2018
This laser is a very good fit for my pistol. The way it wraps around the finger guard, it looks like it is part of the frame. Easy to install and very easy to activate when you grip the pistol. The laser is activated when your ring finger barely touches below the finger guard. I have yet to try at the range to see if it holds a zero.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • You may have to shift your grip slightly to activate it

CHEAP, HARD TO ACTIVATE

by Claybuster9, from CA, United States Written on May 10, 2017
In order to get the laser to work, you have to put your finger in a rather unnatural position on the H&K USP. Once you hit the right spot, the beam is nice and bright. Might be ok for target practice where you can concentrate on finger placement, but I wouldn't want to rely on this unit in an emergency situation.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • hard to activate

TR7 Laser Finally a Quality laser for the average shooter

by Jim, from WI, United States Written on August 29, 2014
Even better than discribed. Fits like a glove on my USP 45 Elite. Looks like it came from the factory that way. Love the ground (metal strip under guard) instead of a bottom or switch. VERY bright. Clearly visible at 50 yrds+. Would never put a cheap toy on my best handgun. Very happy when I realized it wasn't a toy, but didn't make me eat roman noodles for 2 months to get it.
Pros:
  • High Quality at Affordable Price
Cons:
  • can't think of any

Not the best product for the money

by Glfr34, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on July 12, 2013
Not the product that I would have chosen if I had tried it out first.
Pros: Accurate
Cons: Unbelievably difficult to install and cumbersomb to operate.
