Most Helpful Positive Review Armalaser TR4G
I purchased the Armalaser TR4G for my Shield based on the following. 1. Designed and manufactured in US (Florida) 2. Green laser 3. Laser positioned as close to the centerline of the barrel as possible to minimize sighting error before and after the calibration distance 4. Exterior battery repl...

Most Helpful Negative Review Thought it would be better for $150....
Install was simple, fit was great on my SW Shield. Too bad it took me a while to get to the range to put it to the test. After 1st shot at 5 yards, the laser wasn't even on paper anymore. Figured it was a fluke. I reset the laser, rebore sighted it with my sitemark barrel laser, took a shot, the las...

Won’t hold zero

by Mick, from MI, United States Written on December 7, 2022
Put on M&P Shield 9mm took to the range and had to re-zero with bore laser after ever clip. Double and triple checked mounting screws were tight, so the unit is not moving. Defect is inside the unit where the laser is drifting. Have multiple lasers on other pistols (crimson trace) and never had this issue.
Pros:
  • cheaper
Cons:
  • Cheaper
Best Used for:
  • bb gun

Laser sensor fails in hot climates

by JJ, from TX, United States Written on June 29, 2022
The Armalaser TR4 green that I had on my S&W Shield failed to light up after being in the Texas heat for awhile. It appears to be a problem with sensor that detects your finger when you grip the gun. I think it can not take the Texas heat.

Good product, Does NOT fit the Shield Plus

by MATT, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on June 24, 2022
Got tired of waiting for Crimson Trace to come out with a Laserguard compatible with the newer S&W 9mm Shield Plus. Was excited to discover this well-designed and similar product with a bright green laser, and my online research "kind of" indicated that it would fit (see Amazon product reviews for same). It's a well-designed product that has a couple of features superior to the CT design, in my opinion. Unfortunately, it will NOT fit the Shield Plus (unless the product on Amazon is a newer version). I may have to call ArmaLaser directly to get the full story. All the photos of it installed on a weapon show it mounted on the previous versions of the Shield (indicated by the different trigger). Returning for a refund and resuming the wait for a truly compatible laser.

not for bright Sunlight

by hardhat47, from SD, United States Written on August 24, 2019
I only has about 50 feet of range in sunshine day, our pistol range back stops are placed at 80 feet and they cannot be moved, Cannot see the laser at this distance when the sun is out. Can only use it on a cloudy day. Laser works ok and mounts very well on my M&P sheild 9mm. Have not used it long enough to find out how long battery will last. Will work great in low light conditions.
Pros:
  • good for 15 yards in sunlight
Cons:
  • Not inexpensive
  • not much distance in sunlight
Best Used for:
  • low light conditions

Armalaser for Shield

by Michael, from OH, United States Written on January 28, 2019
Extremely easy to install. Fits perfectly and functions as expected. I appreciated having a high quality Allen wrench included along with a spare screw, although the a crew was not needed. Other brands I've purchased have had cheap wrenches which stripped.
Pros:
  • Quick install and alignment
Cons:
  • Size could be slightly smaller
Best Used for:
  • Home Defense

laser was just what it was supposed to be

by mrpski, from AZ, United States Written on May 17, 2018
I usually carry two weapons everyday, a Glock 26 and a S&W Shield. For some time I had a guide rod laser from Lasermax on the Glock & was very happy with it. Always wanted something for the Shield but I do not like most of them that make the weapon just too bulky. Saw this one from Armalaser & although not an invisible guide rod model it looked like something I could live with. Now that I have installed and have used it this laser is everything that it is advertised to be. I got the green light because the price is decent compared to what green lasers cost just a couple of years ago. This installed quick & easy and when matching the beam to my performance center sheield sights they are close enough at 25 feet or so that I am calling it good to go. Found that out with most lasers that if it is installed aligned with the bore sight then most of them are good to go. Have not tried the pulse beam and will not-just the steady light is fine. Will not mess with the adjustments either I figure if it is good it is good.
Pros:
  • easy & quick to install
Cons:
  • no cons for what it is
Best Used for:
  • Self defense
