I have tried this optic with a 1-4 and a 5X22x50 nightforce scopes and they both performed flawlessly. Don't worry about perfectly centering the scope behind as it will work fine. Tried both AR and bolt action and they both grouped at less than a inch. As far as distance to shoot. With the 850 Illuminator on I could easily make shots on steel out to 500 yards The image is suprisingly clear and comparaable to gen 3. My application is law enforcement and hunting. Now that I have finally done it I am pleased. Armasight was purchased by FLIR I emailed service to see if the other service ...

G2+ QS great with ACOG

by GMS, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 30, 2018
I have the Co-X Gen2+ QS. I use it in front of a variety of Trijicon ACOG models (TA11, TA31, & TA50). It provides excellent illumination to the functional range of these optics (out to 600 meters). Inside 150 meters, ambient light is sufficient. Beyond 150 meters, the included IR illuminator is needed. The QS color palate is very worth wile. The QS color provides much less eye fatigue than the standard green palate. The visual clarity is so impressive, I do not see the justification for the extra dollars for a Gen 3 unit.
Pros:
  • durable
  • long battery life
  • Adaptbility
  • easy operation
  • visual clarity
Cons:
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Defense Rifle

Armasight CO-X clip on gen 2 plus.

by Chuck, from ND, United States Written on December 16, 2017
Bought this in a package deal with the Leopold thermal monocular. Wasn’t very impressed with the thermal monocular, but the scope was everything I wanted. On totally dark nites you can easily make out objects to 250 yards. Add a little moon and snow it gets out to 500 easily. Eyes shine up much farther than that. The standard IR is very good. The only con is I had to add an extra rail under my scope to get it high enough to match the night vision scope. The other drawback is there’s no rail on the clip on to mount the IR light. That would be handy to have them togeather for moving from one rifle to another as one unit.
Pros:
  • Good Range
Cons:
  • No rail for IR lite
Best Used for:
  • varmet hunting
  • Varments

Great Product

by morry, from SD, United States Written on September 10, 2017
I Purchased this Co x-Gen 2 clip on and it works great. I have only adjusted it from Patio at night on our acreage with a 40mm scope to 7 power and I found out it's clearer with a Barska and Vortex scope and clearly out and beyond to 150 yards with no problems. MB

FIRST NIGHT VISION

by Robert East, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on December 12, 2016
After doing some research, and checking reviews I decided to make the CO-X Clip On System my first night vision-I have only got to use it 3 or 4 times, but the results are just as I had hoped-Clear view and the IR light goes out further then I will ever use (on suppressed .22). I went with the HD and glad I did.

CO-X Gen 2+ HD

by Rubio, Verified Owner from Madrid, Spain Written on September 2, 2016
After using it for a year I couldn´t be happier with it. I got the HD version and it´t impressive. I love looking through it, I can see everything with such a detail that I just enjoy using it, scanning the environment. With moon you can perfectly see hundreds of yards, and without it, with the great IR that comes with it, I´d say you can identify and shoot at your targets at around 200 yards. I haven´t missed a shot since I bought it. I use it with a Swarowski scope 2.5-15x56 (up to 6x you can still see very clear, up to 10x you can see good enough to shoot), and my Haenel Jaeger 308 rifle. You know, you cannot use it with bigger calibers, the 308 is the biggest recoil it can stand, but that´s good enough for me. I use it for foxes, hogs and deer mostly. As I said, I´m very happy with it, but it has a few cons too: it´s heavy (well built, which is a good thing, of course, but it adds weight to your rifle+scope), which makes it difficult to aim well without leaning on something (or I need to get stronger, maybe). The scope adaptor is just good, it loosens sometimes when you move your rifle and could make your clip-on fall, and if you tighten it too much it could break your scope (not an excellent piece of engineering). You can get dazed easily if you want to look against the moonlight (not directly to the moon, but to the ground, since it doesn´t need almost any light to run properly, any source of light will dazzle you, even a small town kilometers away, but I suppose this m...

Better than I anticipated

by TX Gun Guy, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 25, 2016
I cannot get over how clear this scope is. With just a little light, you can see fine detail out to several hundred yards. I have this mounted in front of a Nikon M-308 scope. I can use the balistic reticle without any clarity issues. This clip-on night vision scope is more than worth the money! The kit comes with everything you need to own the night (IR illuminator, multiple scope shrouds, remote switch, mounting hardware, rechargable battery for IR illuminator). Why are you still waiting to order? Get it and go sling some lead under the moonlight!
Pros:
  • easy to use
  • Light weight.
  • Great picture
  • comes with all needed accesories
  • Impressive night vision
Cons:
  • pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Best Used for:
  • night hunting
  • game spotting at night

Good Image quality, worth the price

by JK, from MO, United States Written on May 23, 2016
Good image quality for a reasonable price. Came with an IR illuminator and the addition of the "free" vortex viper pst 6-24 x 50 EBR-1 MOA made this deal a no-brainer. Best to stay in the 3-9 mag range with larger objective. Had to wait a month or so, but as usual everything arrived intact and functions well.

Day-Night Converter

by Hoganator, from AZ, United States Written on November 11, 2015
I was looking for a night vision scope first as I was not aware about the clip-ons and how they work. Thanks for the advice Optic Planet!
This device gonna make a night vision scope from your day one. It’s extremely comfortable when you got used to your day scope, besides no re-zeroing is required. CO-X is fast attachable and lightweight. It can be mounted on the rail or be attached to the day scope itself by means of a special mounting system which is optional part and needs to be bought separately (exactly my case). The clip-on goes along with long-range IR illuminator and light suppressors.
And also guys read the manual thoroughly. I got a situation when the device started glowing green and got switched off in a few seconds. I was dazed! It turned out there was a lot of light for the tube and to protect it the system was cut off.
I like my new purchase and once again – Read the user's manual!
