Armasight Dark Strider Gen 1+ Night Vision Binocular w/ 5x Magnification
Forget this product. It has excessive distortion on the edges so there is only a small area in the center of the field that is in focus. You have to continuously focus each eyepiece while trying to hold the binoculars unless you are looking at something beyond 150 feet away. The depth of field is...

Binocular was well built, but Gen 1 is NOT clear as anticipated. First one received had faulty power issue, replacement version worked. It is a bit heavy, and magnification did not seem like 5X per advertised. I like Armasight optics, particularly NV and have a CO-MR system that works VERY well. Disappointed with performance. Would suggest going to the next level binocular (Gen 2+) for quality of imaging and performance.

I'd try others before buying these. They are O.K. but nothing special for the $00.00 price tag.
Pros: Easy to operate
Cons: Hazy even after adjustment. Range seems too short

Dark Strider is a very good binocular. I bought it right off as I saw it in the sport shop..I got a chance to test it in the shop and now I've been using it for 2,5 month when I go fishing in the early morning when it is still very dark. It helps me to clearly see everything I can't see with a naked eye. And now i'm looking to buy one at Optic's Planet for my friend so he could join me in fishing

Great binocular! That is exactly what I was looking for. The 5x magnification and good resolution are enough for clear observation of the territory and due to my purchase my attitude to the Gen 1 devices considerably changed. I like Dark Strider as it's very firm and serves me in any weather so I'm fully satisfied with my choice and would highly recommend it!

I would say quite decent device for this price. Good quality of 5x magnification and firm rubberized housing... its not heavy and very easy in operation so I shouldnt think which option to choose and how to adjust it. I dont really like to rack my brains over the things I can easily do without. If I go hunting Id rather spend my time on it and get lots of pleasure of the process itself. Dark Strider was a great choice as for me!
