2 bad scopes and horrible customer service - Armasight Nemesis 4x Gen 2+ Night Vision Rifle Scope

I purchased the Nemesis 4X to mount on my M&P10. I had the scope mounted and bore sighted and took it out to sight in. The visibility of the scope is amazing. I could easily see 150 yards in the pitch black of night. However, after ever shot the scope would turn off. I talked to armasight and they told me unfortunately that there was a defect with the scope and I needed to return in. I talked with optics planet and told them what was happening. I returned the scope, but I had to purchase another scope from optics planet while I was waiting on the return to go through. Optics Planet only had the 6x scope in stock which they sold to me for a discounted price.

When I received the Nemesis 6x I had it mounted and bore sighted and took it out to shoot. I sighted the scope in that afternoon and a few hours later took it hunting. This was back in the spring so the weather was very mild. The gun stayed in a case in the air condition the entire time I had the scope except for the 30 minutes when I sighted it in. That night I walked down the road to go hunting, but when I turned the scope on to check a field all I could see was static. It looked like green and black static off of a tv. I couldn't even see my hand 2 inched in front of the scope. The scope was never dropped or got wet or damaged. I babied it. It had only been out of the air condition for maybe an hour since I’d had it.

I woke up the next morning and called Armasight to explain to them what was going on. I was told I could send the scope back to armasight and they would check it out for me. I had to pay the shipping and it would take a few weeks to hear back. I explained to them that I currently had over $3,000 in charges on my credit card for 2 different scopes that didn't work. Their response was that its policy for the customer to pay shipping. After talking with them and making sure they understood that I had 2 scopes that out of the box didn't last 30 minutes, I realized they didn’t care and were not going to help me out at all. I ended up sending the scope back and had to buy another scope from optics planet. So, after 1 1/2 months and $4,500 on my credit card I finally got a scope that will work.

I would never buy or recommend any product from Armasight. I was also told that armasight was sold to a larger company and that they had gone downhill since. Not sure if that's true, but that's what I was told.

It's worth noting that optics planet was great to work with through all this. They talked with me and tried to help me get a scope that would work.
