I originally ordered a Pulsar LRF thermal that showed to be available. After a few days, I get an email that the ordered product was discontinued. So, I go with this thermal as my 2nd choice. I would rate this thermal as “good” based on image quality and native magnification.
Build: sturdy milspec quality, solid as it gets.
Battery life: warm weather-the 2 CR123 battery pack made it through 3 hours of hog hunting. Weather in the low 90’s with about 30% remaining. Cool weather-hunted last night in north Texas (12/4/2018). Temps were in the low 40’s. Two CR123 pack dropped into the yellow 1/4 power in less than 45 minutes of constant use. 2nd battery pack goes in and after another hour of use, I’m showing 1/3 capacity, still in the green. To be fair, the first pack might have been the pack that I use to sight in, so it was possibly not a “fresh” pack. Regardless, this thermal loves to eat the batteries, compared to other manufacturers who use LiPo technology.
Accessibility/Sharing: If you look at and use this unit, it becomes clear that it was constructed for military use. The included DVR is junk and the way you mount it is disgraceful. You are expected to plug in a wire and then route the wire to the vinyl DVR holster that you have zip tied somewhere on your rifle. Looks like they fixed all the gimmicks on the PRO series. Pulsar is the much better way to go if you intend to share with friends.

I wore myself out researching different brands, calling the manufacturers, agonizing over the choices. Finally I chose the Zeus 3.
The scope is excellent and you will need to spend some time with it as there are some nuances to master. Once you do however, the buttons are intuitive and the color schemes are incredible.
Different times of day and differing day/night temperature differentials will need to be compensated with changing the color scheme and contrast to get an optimal sight picture. This is not difficult to master. You just scroll through the schemes and judge the sight picture, then dial in the contrast. Only takes about an hour to learn once you know you need to do this, and once you do, seconds to complete.
I advise the battery pack. You will wish you ordered it if you do not. It makes the learning curve much smoother.
My only Complaint is that the wire connection into the extended battery pack seems to pull apart with use. It does not seem to me to be water resistant any longer as the white and black wire are showing where the insulation has pulled out of the battery compartment. The wire connection at the plug adapter to the scope seems better constructed and has stayed intact. That said, you will still want the external battery pack without a doubt.
Cons:
- external battery pack wires pull out of battery pack easily

Solid, quality build.
Easily sight-in procedure (used a chemical handwarmer as a 'thermal' target).
Enjoyed the multiple palettes to optimize the view for conditions at hand.
The QR-style rail mount is well made, and easily adjusted.
Great price: Thermal riflescopes are now within reach of mere mortals.
Digital recorder is nice, excellent recording while off of rifle. Haven't used it while firing rifle yet.

Perfectly matched my tan DPMS AR15, really liked the design of this scope. Everything is made top notch, even though 336 is not the best resolution on the market, that thing is great for eliminating pigs. Flir chip is outstanding, lots of features, great scope. I'm happy with my purchase so far!
