Armasight Zeus 336 3-12x50 (60 Hz) Thermal Imaging Weapon Sight, FLIR Tau 2 336x256 (17µm) 60Hz Core, 50mm Lens
Purchased this recently for controlling hog population, works well, a little grainy but still a very useful product.
One issue of major importance, although this item shipped and was delivered quickly, I discovered the mount had been damaged. seems someone stripped the threads of one of the mountin...

Bought device back in February. Harvested multiple hogs. Was using this device this past weekend and the blank blue screen popped up. Waiting to see what optics planet or armasight do to resolve issue. I basically have a 4000 dollar paperweight on my hands

Product performance is as expected. The scope is being used on a Sig 556 as well as on my Precision 308 for coyotes and hogs. I have had no issues as of yet with the scope keeping zero or malfunctioning.
Pros:
light weight
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
coyotes
Hogs

Very impressive quality. FLIR has thought of many features to make this scope very user friendly. The advanced remote control button that you can put on a rail, or velcro to wherever, is one idea. Four reticle colors, five reticle styles, and many palettes (backgrounds) are more than I expected. I purchased the tan version from Optics Planet (OPMOD) and am not just satisfied, but very impressed. They even threw in a small video recorder which attaches to the scope. The scope is extremely well packaged, and I was familiar with the leading edge history/reputation of FLIR in the infra-red industry.
Pros:
Germanium lens
Several reticles and colors
FLIR name behind it
Cons:
It takes study and practice to use it with confidence
Best Used for:
night hunting

This is a good thermal for hunting. I only have one issue with this order and that was the front lens cover was not included and optics planet couldn't send one to me. I had to contact Armasight directly and they are mailing it out. You would think if something cost this much they would verify everything is there. So the actual thermal is a 5 and optics planet is a 3 on this particular transaction.

hunting

I have been waiting for the thermals scopes to come down in price for 10 years to what I thought was a reasonable price. Now that I have one I am glad I waited. I bought the OPMOD Armasight Zeus Thermal Scope 3-12 336 60hz scope when it was 10% off which I thought was a good price. Then a few days later Optics Planet had them for 15% off. I called Optics planet and asked for the additional 5% off and they gave it to me. So I bought the scope for $3140 with free shipping on top of that. I have been using night vision for over 30 years and know its capabilities very well. I have the first ATN PS-22 clip on scope with a Pinnacle ITT with a 72 lines of resolution and a signal to noise ratio of 27.6 for a FOM of (1987.2). With the ATN clip on scope I can shoot a 2” steel spinner at 400 yards with no moon and cloud cover using a Luna IR laser illuminator. So this is the scope I am comparing the OPMOD Thermal scope and its capabilities too. The first day I took the scope to the range it was day light and I used steel plates to sight in the scope. I was disappointed I could not get the normal quarter MOA group out of the gun that I normally get with day optics and when the clip-on scope is used on the rifle. But at least I had the scope almost sighted in. On my next trip to the range it was night and I brought some hand warmers to use as targets which are about 1 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches in size. While adjusting the scope at 100 yards I noticed I was getting 1.5 MOA or 1 and a half...

Great scope with a clear view. Anything inside of 300 yards is very easy to identify. It will detect at over 1 mile but hard to identify at those distances. Im very pleased with it so far. Battery life is alright with a average run time of around 3.5 to 4 hours. Seems to return to zero pretty well when removed and reattached. I run it as a monocular then when I identify my target i QT it back to my rifle and go shoot.
Pros:
Holds zero
bright
Clear
Cons:
I havent found one yet.

Thermal technology has come a long way in the past two years. Not that long ago a system like the OPMOD Zeus would have cost well over $20k. With the proliferation of FLIR thermal cores, these units have come down in price to a more manageable level. For those of you that are serious about night shooting and hunting, look no further than the OPMOD Zeus.
With the OPMOD Zeus we have expanded our OPMOD brand into the thermal spectrum. No matter what your requirements are, there is a unit for you! The resolutions we employ range from a budget oriented 160x120 core to a professional grade 640x512. The refresh rates all start at 30hz with models available in 60hz.
These units are also fully adaptable with a recording device (sold separately) so you can show your buddies your kill!
Pros:
Durability
color
adaptability
can record digitally
Cons:
weight
Best Used for:
Night hog hunts
Nighttime varmit hunting
night shooting
