Just for me!

by Sim, from MI, United States Written on October 4, 2016
Honestly, I am not an expert in thermal imaging, not even a very experienced user, so I don’t have anything to compare as most of my life I have used night vision scopes. The Armasight Prometheus is my first thermal device. I bought it for hunting and my property protection from wild animals. I am fully satisfied with my decision. Thanks to the tons of reviews and recommendations I read, I had a picture of a device I wanted to buy.

I required practical, durable housing that can withstand different weather conditions as I travel a lot and I am glad that I got it. The buttons on the top of the unit are very comfortable and easy to use even in gloves, so I don’t need to draw them off every time. I like menu too, easy to navigate, don’t need to check everything in manual each time.

I was worried that using 8x zoom I would get dramatically reduction of the quality, but in the end it works fine.

Feel quite comfortable with 42 mm lens, not too large, but big and powerful enough to give me that quality and distance of performance that I want.

A big struggle won!

by Tom Tom, from CT, United States Written on February 15, 2016
As I was choosing a thermal monocular for myself, there were lots of doubts and questions, so I decided to write this review as help for people who are in the same situation right now. The first thing I was focused on was durable housing, since I wanted to have a unit not just to observe butterflies, but to hunt coyotes without any worries or distractions on need to clean the scope from drops or dust. Secondly, lens resolution. Of course, scope with 25 mm lens would be too small, while 75 mm one would make my scope quite heavy, that’s why a device with 42 mm lens resolution was a perfect solution for me. The next point was magnification. I knew exact size of an area I was going to observe, so there was no problem for me to figure out what resolution should the monocular have. To put it in a nutshell, my Prometheus met all the requirements I had and the picture quality made me more than just happy about purchasing the Armasight scope.
