Great value for the money.

Having used several gen 1 units before, I was expecting much better performance from this unit. I am highly impressed. The ajustable gain works great. Much less fisheye effect than gen 1. Virtually no artifacts or black spots in the viewing area. Well built. The gain control and focus rings are tight at first, but get easier to turn after a while. The diopeter adjustment only goes to about +/-3 though, not 5 as stated. Your eye must be very close to the rubber eyepiece in order to see the image though, as the exit pupil isn't too large. Using the armasight skull crusher mount puts the unit too far at an upward angle to be able to see clearly unless you place the head straps farther up on your head, which makes the whole assembly feel less secure. Will probably get a helmet mount adapter with more adjustments. The built in illuminator is only adequate for inside in total darkness. Not helpfull in either spot or flood mode outside unless you are looking directly in front of you at a map or other arm-length object. Use an external illuminator for better results. For the clarity, ease of use, and brightness, this unit can't be beat for the price. Buy two or even three for the price of a gen 3 unit. You'll still be able to see 85% as well as gen 3 for 1/3 the price. The package contains the device, a battery, and a soft carry case. You must provide your own mounts.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Ease of use
  • Clarity
  • battery life
  • rugged
Cons:
  • Low onboard illumination power
  • No mounts included
  • Less diopeter adjustment than shown
Best Used for:
  • home security

my favourite

My Sirius won a competition with other Gen 2 scopes in a category “Price/image quality ratio” (the main category for me), so I made sure to choose necessary accessories and bought the scope. Obviously, this monocular doesn’t compete with high-end units when it comes to picture quality, but those devices are twice as expensive and some of them are huge and heavy. For the last four months I enjoy every time I go outside with my Sirius. It has durable body, provides me with clear image and holds battery charge for up to 60 hours. What else do I need? Time to go outside and shop to buy batteries. I do advise Sirius to you!
