Adds the extra length needed
This spacer is needed to add to take up the space in the buffer tube of a rifle buffer because the Armaspec recoil system is only long enough for a carbine length buffer tube. The Armaspec recoil system needs to be contacting the back of the BCG and this is what allows it to do that in an AR rifle.
